OUR APPROACH

Successful innovation depends, at a simple level, on getting people to buy, use, enjoy and adopt. In short, it is about catering to human behaviour, not just attitudes and perceptions.   Too often though behaviours are considered only fleetingly during innovation projects.  And what people will tell you, often differs from what they actually do.

A recent academic force, the growth of behavioural science offers exciting and powerful insights drawn from across psychology, behavioural economics, neurology and evolutionary biology.  It explains more deeply the so-called 'invisible forces' that instigate and drive our decisions and behaviours.  We translate that latest thinking into actionable outcomes.

For consumer-centric organisations, applying these learnings throughout the development process can step-change innovation outcomes, giving improved design, greater clarity on what matters for consumers, speedier decision-making and increased likelihood of adoption.

OUR METHODOLOGY

Square_process_1.png

Our 7- step process covers inception to launch.

What makes us different?

  • We focus on outcomes from the start. â€‹

  • We partner you.  Innovation is more than finding the idea, so we don't disappear during development.

Square_process_2.png

At every stage, we use applied cognitive and decision-making science over 7 core relevant areas.

This allows us to comprehensively align your innovation challenge to behaviour, first to unpick what the challenge is behaviourally and then to ensure your solution is as optimised as possible.

Square_process_3.png

Behind it all, our proprietary behavioural science tool comprehensively maps hundreds of underlying behavioural triggers, biases, heuristics and goal motivation systems onto your challenge.

Complex, yes, but our output is straightforward and actionable.

STAND ALONE SERVICES

Alongside end-to-end project partnership, our comprehensive, modular toolkit means we can act flexibly to support you with discrete innovation challenges.

These are a great way to incorporate behavioural learning into an existing project or process.

BRAIN FOR HIRE

When viewed as increasingly popular, visible behaviours, the behavioural 'underside' of a trend provides a differentiated perspective.  Useful across the marketing mix.

Not all brainstorms are equal.  We design a session to your needs that brings out your creative behaviour and best decision-making.

At times you know you're on the right path, but something isn't quite working.  We help you refine concepts and get clearer on what matters.

Sometimes you just want a behavioural science viewpoint on a subject.  We're happy to provide input to both agencies and clients on specific challenges.

Our Flexibility

I set up Twigged after my own moment of 'twigging'.

I spent close to two decades working in some of the largest global consumer companies on some of their best-loved brands.  It often seemed curious to me though that even subtle concept changes would greatly impact consumer response to innovation.

This curiosity about 'irrational' behaviour led me, ultimately, to study for a MSc in Behavioural Science at the London School of Economics.  Alongside deep knowledge, it highlighted the potential of this new, exciting field to improve innovation.

Having ‘walked the walk’ myself so extensively, I am resolute that Twigged’s output should first and foremost work for you.

If you, or your team, are interested to learn more about behavioural science generally, we are very happy (where possible) to come in to run a brief introductory session to the topic.
